ANDREW OLAND ASSUMES MOOSEHEAD PRESIDENCY Becomes 6th Generation Family Member to Take Company Reins

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

SAINT JOHN, NB – February 14, 2008 — The Board of Directors of Moosehead Breweries has announced the appointment of Andrew Oland as President. Mr. Oland is the eldest son of Moosehead Executive Chairman Derek Oland. His appointment makes him the sixth generation member of his family to lead the last remaining major brewery in the country owned by Canadians. He succeeds Steven Poirier who has decided to return to Ontario. The appointment is effective April 1, 2008.

Mr. Oland joined Moosehead in 1992 and has held a number of increasingly senior positions with the company including Sales Manager for Nova Scotia, Sales Director for New Brunswick, Alpine Lager Marketing Director, and President of Moosehead Quebec. Mr. Oland graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk Virginia in 1989 with a business degree, and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1997. He is an active community volunteer and is currently serving as First Vice Chair of the Saint John Board of Trade.

“I am delighted Andrew has agreed to lead our business through its next period of growth,” said Derek Oland. “Over the last 16 years he has become familiar with every aspect of the brewing business and has earned the respect of his colleagues for his business acumen and leadership abilities. Andrew brings energy and passion to his new position as Moosehead’s President. He’s the right choice to continue Moosehead’s development. This promotion is well earned and I am confident Andrew will successfully continue the brewing legacy started by my great, great grandmother Susannah in 1867.”

In his new role, Mr. Oland will have direct responsibility for the performance of Moosehead Breweries and its subsidiary operations.

Derek Oland praised the contributions of outgoing President Steven Poirier. “Steven has been a superb leader and has made many valuable contributions to the company both as President and as the company’s senior sales and marketing executive. We have nothing but best wishes for Steven in his future endeavours.”

Moosehead Breweries is Canada’s third largest brewer by production volume and is the country’s last major brewer still owned by Canadians. Headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick, the company has been operated by the Oland family since it was established in 1867.
